2020- RCCF Awards Grant Funding for RAPS Library Books

The Roscommon County Community Foundation is happy to announce that the Roscommon Area Public Schools has received a $2,500.00 grant to assist with the RHS Library New Books Project. Funding for this project was provided by the Sarah Eulaine Tucker Fund and the Gerrish-Higgins Educational Fund.
The purpose of this grant is to update the Roscommon High School Library books to increase literacy and an interest in reading. The entire high school community, staff and students, will benefit through access to the newest books and the enjoyment of a good book. At large, it will benefit through improved literacy as students move beyond high school and into the community as adults.
2019- RHS & RMS Choirs Awarded Grant from RCCF

The Roscommon County Community Foundation (RCCF) is pleased to announce that they provided a $3,313.00 grant to the Roscommon High School (RHS) and Roscommon Middle School (RMS) Choirs. The Sarah Eulaine Tucker (Class of 1977) Fund provided the funding for the project.
Funding allowed the choir groups to visit Chicago to attend the Broadway musical Hamilton, the story based on the life of Alexander Hamilton. They were also able to visit a few of the famous cultural sites while in Chicago including the Shedd Aquarium and Alder Planetarium. The 6th-8th grade choir members took a trip to the Wharton Theater in Lansing to see the Broadway musical Anastasia, a show that adapts the legend of Grand Duschess Anastasia Nikolaevna of Russia. Thanks to this grant, nearly 60 students were able to experience a Broadway production. According to choir teacher Carol Rau, “Students benefitted educationally, culturally, and socially.”
2016- RAYBC receives grant from RCCF for European Excursion

The Roscommon County Community Foundation recently provided a $945.00 grant to the Roscommon Area Youth Booster Club (RAYBC). The grant was awarded to assist students traveling to Europe during the summer of 2016. The Sarah Eulaine Tucker (Class of 1977) Fund provided the funding awarded.

The students who participated in RAYBC’s tour of Europe included stops at The Palace of Versailles, Neuschwanstein Castle, and the Dachau concentration camp. The goal of the European Excursion is for students to learn while traveling. Students were engaged beyond opportunities in the classroom; not only did they get to learn about the history of these monuments, they got to experience the culture first hand.
