The Char Fitzgerald Literacy & Education Fund was established in honor of Char’s career as an educator at Houghton Lake Community Schools. Char’s career has made an impact on the lives of many students who have attended Houghton Lake Community Schools over the years.
This fund aims to enhance literacy for Houghton Lake Community Schools students in grades K-6 by removing obstacles to accessing books and educational materials through their school’s library. For example, funding can be used to waive library fines or replace lost or damaged books for students.
