2021 Grant Award: Higgins Lake Foundation Awarded Grant for DASH Boat Project

The Roscommon County Community Foundation (RCCF) is happy to announce that the Higgins Lake Foundation was recently awarded a grant of $2,500.00 to assist with the DASH Boat-Diver Assisted Suction Harvester project. The funding for this project was provided by The Endowment for Higgins Lake and the John Morley Family Endowment for Higgins Lake.
Higgins Lake is cherished by many tourists and residents year-round and seasonal. By maintaining the water quality of the lake will prevent the eutrophication (aging of a body of water) for long term. The purpose of this grant is to improve the lake by removing the aquatic invasive species (AIS) and keeping the prevention efforts up.
2020 Grant Award: RCCF Awards Grant to the Higgins Lake Foundation

The Roscommon County Community Foundation is pleased to announce that The Higgins Lake Foundation was recently awarded a grant of $2,500.00 for Aquatic Invasive Species & Lake Management Education. Funding for this project was provided by The Endowment for Higgins Lake and the John Morley Family Endowment for Higgins Lake.
The purpose of this grant is to target all who boat on Higgins Lake – residents and visitors and all who live on or near Higgins Lake to educate them on nutrient loading and what they can do to keep Higgins Lake clean and safe for years to come.
2015 Grant Award: Higgins Lake Foundation receives grant from RCCF

The Higgins Lake Foundation (HLF) recently received a grant in the amount of $2,500.00 to assist with the Marine Patrol Coverage Operation on Higgins Lake. This grant was funded from the Endowment for Higgins Lake, which is administered by the Roscommon County Community Foundation (RCCF).
The role of the marine patrol coverage on Higgins Lake is to provide visitors with boater safety information and to help all of those using the lake to understand and comply with all the rules of the water.
