A devoted member of the community, Lynda Hogaboom was deeply involved in charitable causes and projects throughout Roscommon County. After retiring from the Salvation Army, Lynda and her husband, Larry, moved to Houghton Lake in 1999, where they continued their lifelong commitment to service. The Hogabooms were known for stepping in wherever help was needed, always guided by a spirit of generosity and care.

Lynda’s mission was to help community members meet their most basic needs, with a special focus on ensuring access to nourishing food. She volunteered at the Roscommon County Food Pantry for 18 years, including two years as Executive Director, where her leadership and compassion left a lasting impact. Lynda passed away unexpectedly in November of 2021, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and service.
To honor Lynda’s memory in a meaningful and enduring way the Lynda’s Food Pantry Fund was established. This endowment fund provides ongoing support for the MidMichigan Health Services Food Pantry—continuing Lynda’s work and values for generations to come.
