Andrew Schmidt Trades Scholarship

$16,922 Scholarships Awarded

The Andrew Schmidt Trades Scholarship will assist Roscommon County graduates and graduating seniors who are enrolled or enrolling in a skilled craft field through an accredited trade/technical/vocational school, college, university, or community college. Preference will be given to applicants who are enrolled into a qualified apprenticeship program. Eligible students will be able to apply for this scholarship beginning in 2019.

Karl and Carol Schmidt started this scholarship in honor of their Son Andrew Schmidt to promote and encourage individuals to learn a career through a combination of classroom instruction and on-the-job training. Areas of study may include but are not limited to advanced integrated manufacturing, automotive technology and building trades. Andrew says, “I am honored and glad to be able to help other young adults become trained and skilled in vocations that provide meaningful opportunities and career paths not available to a lot of recent or current Roscommon County high school graduates.”
