The Nester Family Charitable Fund was established to carry forward the deep love, generosity, and community spirit of Don and Beverly Nester—two people whose lives were rooted in service, family, and dedication to Roscommon County. Created by the Nester family in memory of Don and Beverly Nester, this fund provides support for charitable, benevolent, and other initiatives that strengthen the community they proudly called home. Today, it continues to support a wide variety of meaningful causes across Roscommon County, ensuring the values of Don and Beverly live on for generations.

Donald W. Nester built a life marked by hard work, integrity, and a passion for people. After marrying Beverly Wintrode on May 17, 1952, the two created a partnership that extended beyond family and into the heart of their community. Don enjoyed being surrounded by friends and family, and he had a true love for the game of golf. He took immense pride in his career in the automotive dealership industry, where his work ethic and commitment built lasting relationships throughout the region.
Beverly L. Nester brought warmth, energy, and unwavering kindness into her community. From Warren to Roscommon in 1978, and later to Grayling, she embraced each place with generosity and care. Beverly co-owned Don Nester Chevrolet-Oldsmobile from 1978 to 1993, serving as the dealership’s comptroller and a vital leader in the business. She also spent many years as an office manager for Michigan Contractor and Builder. Beverly’s passions mirrored her loving spirit—she cherished her family, enjoyed cooking, golf, reading, and cheering on the Detroit Tigers. She was an active member of Zonta and was always ready to lend her time and talents to others.
