Ruth Anne (Williams) Rackerby was born September 3, 1943, in Roscommon, MI. In 1965 she graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Child Development. Annie married Tom Rackerby in 1973. For 16 years she was a K-6 classroom teacher, with three of those years spent in the Philippines working in Department of Defense educational system while her husband Tom served in the Navy. In 2002 Tom and Annie retired and enjoyed traveling and many adventures together. Annie also spent many years volunteering for the Colorado State Extension service as the media coordinator for the Denver Junior Symphony Guild annual designer show house and the master gardener. Annie always had a love for animals and her friends.

Distributions from the Fund will support early childhood development for students in kindergarten through sixth grade in Roscommon County, Michigan.

2025 – Sundrop Montessori Preschool, Inc. – $5,630 for Sundrop School Nature Space Shelter. A.R.K. Association to Rescue Kritters – $2,500 for A.R.K. Education Programs Roscommon County Literacy Council – $2,500 for Dolly Parton Imagination Library.

2024 – Charlton Heston Academy – $3,000 for Girls Empowerment Society.

2024 – Houghton Lake Community Schools – $2,000 for Collins Elementary School Library Revitalization.

2024 – Roscommon County Literacy Council – $2,500 for Dolly Parton Imagination Library.

2023 – Sundrop Montessori Preschool, Inc. – $2,500 for Sundrop Play Structure.

2022 – C.O.O.R. Intermediate School District – $2,091.33 for Communications.

2022 – Charlton Heston Academy – $2,500 for Kindergarten Classroom Wish List.

2022 – C.O.O.R. Intermediate School District – $1,400 for Talking is Teaching Little Libraries.
