Larry Eastley & Clare Fisher Eastley Animal Support Fund

This Memorial Fund was established by Larry Eastley in loving memory of his wife, Clare, an avid supporter of conservation.

Clare Marie Fisher Eastley was born December 18, 1926. After graduating from high school in 1945, she was employed by the US Forest Service. Later she worked for Dow Chemical Company in Roscommon until it relocated. In 1953, she married the love of her life, Larry. Clare was the Executive Assistant to the Dean of School of Education at Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant from 1962 until her retirement in 1983.
Over the years, the Eastleys have belonged to several conservation and wildlife groups including the Sierra Club and the National Audubon Society. It is their mutual love of nature that inspired Larry to create this lasting legacy of giving.

The Fund is intended to supplement the medical expenses and veterinary costs for the Roscommon County Animal Shelter and the Association to Rescue Kritters (ARK).

2022 Grant Award: ARK Receives Funding

The Roscommon County Community Foundation (RCCF) is excited to share that the A.R.K. (Association to Rescue Kritters) was awarded a grant of $1,567.00 to help care for the animals. Funding for this project was provided by the Larry Eastley and Clare Fisher Eastley Animal Support Fund and the Viola J. Moore Animal Fund.

“Thank you for the grants from the Larry Eastley and Clare Fisher Eastley Animal Support Fund and the Viola J. Moore Animal Fund. Their kindness is appreciated. Support from these funds help us to care for the wildlife.” – A.R.K. Staff. The Rescue helps rehabilitate hundreds of sick, orphaned, and injured wildlife each year. And it is their goal to return the animals back to their natural habitat once they can live independently.
