The Rubye Cunningham Memorial Fund was lovingly established by the Ostling and Cunningham families in memory of Rubye Cunningham, whose compassion for animals left a lasting mark on all who knew her. This fund is dedicated to supporting the Roscommon County Animal Shelter and ensuring that vulnerable animals receive the medical care and attention they need while waiting for their forever homes.
Income generated from the fund is used specifically to help cover veterinary costs and medical expenses for the animals housed at the shelter. From emergency procedures and routine vaccinations to treatments for illness or injury, the Rubye Cunningham Memorial Fund makes it possible to deliver the highest standard of care to animals in need.
A Mission of Compassion and Care
The Roscommon County Animal Shelter and Animal Control are committed to the humane treatment of all stray, abandoned, or surrendered animals in Roscommon County. Their mission is not only to provide care, but also to inspire compassion—both for the animals themselves and for the individuals who may no longer be able to care for them.
The shelter works tirelessly to:
- Encourage responsible pet ownership through education on spaying, neutering, and vaccinations
- Promote yearly licensing to ensure public safety and higher return rates for lost pets
