Sundrop Montessori Awarded Grant From RCCF

The Roscommon County Community Foundation (RCCF) is eager to share that the Sundrop Montessori Preschool was presented with a grant of $5,000.00 to help with the purchase of new materials for the classroom. Funding for this project was provided by a donor advised fund.

With the money awarded to the school they were able to purchase furniture and learning materials for the classroom. In the Montessori classroom setting each one of the items used in the classroom has a purpose. For example, they purchased some shirt squares with buttons, Velcro and buckles so that children can learn from as they play with them. Also purchased were work mats for the children to sit on and use as workstations and lay out items such as their number cards. New globes and maps will be used for geography lessons. Now equipped with the new learning tools the staff and students are excited for the new school year!

Want to get involved? You can support one of our many funds sending your donation to RCCF at P.O. Box 824, Roscommon, MI 48653 or by visiting our website www.myrccf.org/give/online to donate.
