“Small businesses are the backbone of small/rural communities,” states Diane Love-Suvada, Executive Director of the Sawmill. “The mission of the Sawmill is to be a centrally located business resource center for Northern Michigan.” Since incorporation in late 2016, the Sawmill has made great strides in supporting local businesses and achieving goals set forth in their strategic plan. It has not taken long for aspiring entrepreneurs and existing business owners to look to the Sawmill for assistance with their business goals.
The Roscommon County Community Foundation (RCCF) has provided $2,500.00 in grant funding to the Sawmill Rural Business Center to help fund a new project, called the Business Bootcamp. The Bootcamp is an eight week entrepreneurial program that will help participants learn the process of formalizing their concept from idea to launch.
Grant funding was provided by the Roscommon Regional Career Center Support Fund (R2C2), a special project fund of RCCF.
