The Roscommon County Community Foundation (RCCF) is pleased to announce that they recently presented a $500.00 grant to the Roscommon Middle School (RMS). The funding for this project comes from the Wade Family Donor Advised Fund.
The middle school playground had limited equipment not allowing all of the children to be involved during recess. With the awarded funds RMS was able to purchase sporting equipment to play basketball, soccer, flag football, kickball, jump rope, hula hoop, and skip it games as well as paint for the lines of these games. A goal of this project was to allow the kids to work together becoming more of a team. Students were presented with a problem and were encouraged to come up with a solution to solve it. They were eager to help with the grant process and anxiously waited to hear if they had been awarded the funds needed to purchase the new equipment. 4th grade student Joey Abbe said, “You helped change Roscommon Middle School and kids hopes.”
