The Roscommon County Community Foundation (RCCF) recently awarded a 400.00 grant to the Roscommon Area District Library (RADL) for a live performance by The Moxie Strings. Funding for this project was provided by the Alexa A. Luck Memorial Fund.
The Moxie Strings visited RADL on the evening of July 31st, 2018 and performed a live one hour program. The musical celebration brought together community members of all ages. According to Colleen Dyke Library Director, “We were ecstatic to have the Moxie Strings back to our library. We always enjoy their music, and our patron turnout was outstanding with 117 in attendance.”
During the performance, Alison Lynn played an electric cello and Diana Ladio played a 5-string violin. “The Moxie Strings compose the majority of their pieces and arrange melodies from many countries, resulting in a genre-blurring blend of ear-catching, mainstream melodies and foot-stomping, rock-influenced rhythms. The band’s polished, high-energy show continues to redefine strings’ role in contemporary music, and offers audience members a diverse, fun, musical experience.” (TheMoxieStrings.com)
