The Roscommon County Community Foundation (RCCF) is pleased to announce that Garrett Patterson is the 2015 recipient of the Mr. J’s Buckeye Nuts College Scholarship. The Fund provides an annual scholarship to help Roscommon Area Public School graduates in their second, third and fourth year with educational expenses. Special consideration is given to students who are attending Ohio State University, Bowling Green State University, Central Michigan University, The University of Cincinnati, Michigan State University and The University of Michigan.
The Johoske Family established this Fund in memory of their father, Richard “Coach” or “Pops” Johoske who was a longtime physical education and science teacher at the Roscommon Middle School. In addition he was a driver education instructor, coached football, basketball and baseball.
The scholarship was awarded this year to Garrett Patterson. Garrett just completed his sophomore year at Michigan State University and is majoring in law enforcement.
RCCF and the Johoske family are very pleased to assist Roscommon High School graduates as they continue to work on their educational degrees, and to ultimately make a difference in the world.
