The Roscommon County Community Foundation (RCCF) is excited to announce that it has awarded a grant of $500 to the Houghton Lake Area Historical Society for roof repairs on the Playhouse. This grant has been funded through the Roscommon County General Fund.
The Playhouse is a large building of historical significance that is used for many community events such as musical performances, other forms of entertainment, community meetings and banquets, and the weekly farmer’s market, among other uses. Repairing the roof allows for preservation of the building along with bringing valuable events to the community.
