The Roscommon County Community Foundation (RCCF) is pleased to announce that the Houghton Lake Middle School (HLMS) has been awarded a $1,600.00 grant to support LEGO Education. This project was supported by the Houghton Lake Educational Fund.
This grants purpose is to provide support to the 7th grade students at Houghton Lake Middle School. Mindy Bode (HLMS Science teacher) says that LEGO Education gives 7th grade students at HLMS the “opportunity to learn simple machines and other STEM activities”. This is critical to their learning because it provides problem solving, comprehension, communication, creativity, and critical thinking skills to the students.
