The Roscommon County Community Foundation (RCCF) is delighted to announce that the Great Start, COOR ISD received a grant of $1,250.00 for their Math in the Mail project. Funding for this project was provided by the Roscommon County General Fund.
The purpose of this grant is so that the school system could create a curriculum for 12 months of mailing cards. Starting in September the cards will be sent out and continue through the rest of the year. With this project they can expand their “Talking is Teaching” campaign which is part of a nationwide campaign. The cards that are sent out come with pictures and instructions for parents to help their preschool students learn math at home. This is a great way to support math and learning at home for the preschoolers. Project Coordinator Christina Tappan, “Now that we have curriculum created this program will continue to support math in the homes for preschool families.”
