The Roscommon County Community Foundation (RCCF) recently presented a $1,250.00 grant to Gerrish Township to purchase equipment for the Fire and EMS department. The Roscommon County General Fund ($1,131.00) and the Doug Allen Fire & EMS Support Fund ($119.00) awarded the funds to support this grant.
With the funds granted, the Gerrish Township Fire Department was able to purchase a device that measures the carbon monoxide levels in an individual. With this device, they will be better equipped to determine the amount of carbon monoxide a person has been exposed to if the department is called to their home due to a detector alarming. Brandon Rodgers said to June Allen, “We have already used the machine 6-12 times this year.” RCCF is pleased to hear that the carbon monoxide machine has already made an impact within our community.
