Sarah Baines, 31
AHEC Program and Grant Manager
Sarah Baines has deep roots in Roscommon, where she was born and raised just a short distance from where her parents first met. A 2010 graduate of Roscommon High School, Sarah continued her education at Kirtland Community College before earning her Bachelor of Science in Anthropology and Museum Studies from Central Michigan University in 2016. Her academic journey included a valuable internship in Collections Management at the Yellowstone Heritage and Research Center in Gardiner, Montana.
Today, Sarah is making a significant impact in her community through her work at MidMichigan Community Health Services. In her dual role as Grant Manager and Area Health Education Center (AHEC) Program Manager, she supports both the health center and its patients in various ways. As a Grant Manager, Sarah identifies and secures funding for crucial initiatives, such as purchasing behavioral health materials that assist patients in treatment. In her capacity as AHEC Program Manager, she coordinates employee trainings, provides resources to high school students interested in health care careers, and manages the health center’s social media and media relations. Additionally, Sarah contributes to the National AHEC Communications Committee and the Marketing Collaborative.
Sarah’s love for her community is evident in her words and actions. “I love how my community comes together to support each other and those in need of a little extra support from time to time. We are all part of a giant clock, and we work best when we work together for each other.”
Sarah is supporting the Zonta Club – Women’s & Children’s Fund for Health, Domestic Security, and Education.
