Ryan Sersaw is a dedicated educator and coach who brings a wealth of experience and passion to Houghton Lake. Born and raised in Clare, Michigan, Ryan is a former collegiate athlete who has deeply felt the off-the-field benefits of sports. He appreciates the camaraderie, teamwork, perseverance, and personal growth that sports foster, values that he now imparts to his students and athletes.
Losing his father at a young age, Ryan took on the responsibility of helping raise his younger brother, which solidified his passion for helping youth. He is entering his 10th year of coaching football, driven by a desire to mentor and guide young athletes. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science in Health & Wellness and earned certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine in 2016. His expertise has led him to host numerous strength and conditioning workouts and camps, training athletes from 7th grade all the way to college and professional levels.
Ryan views Houghton Lake as an incredible place to live and work. He firmly believes in the power of perspective, “Change the way you look at things, and the things you look at change.” For Ryan, the passionate and supportive community, along with the great students and local businesses, make Houghton Lake a special place. Since getting involved in the community last year, he has met many individuals who are committed to making and keeping Houghton Lake a wonderful place to be. Ryan is grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this vibrant community.
