Andrew Thompson, 38
Co-Pastor at Houghton Lake Wesleyan Church
Andrew Thompson has called Houghton Lake home since 1989, having moved to the area with his family as a young boy. He experienced a diverse education through homeschooling, as well as attending both Houghton Lake and Skeels Christian School. Now, as an adult, Andrew pours his heart into the community he’s always known, serving as Co-Pastor at Houghton Lake Wesleyan Church.
Beyond his pastoral duties, Andrew takes pride in organizing quality events for young people and families in the area. His roles as a program director for Artesia Youth Park and a school bus driver for Houghton Lake Community Schools allow him to connect with and positively impact the lives of local youth.
As a husband of 18 years and a father of four, Andrew deeply values his family and is grateful for the opportunity to raise his children in the same community that shaped him. He’s passionate about Houghton Lake, a place he’s intimately familiar with, understanding the struggles and triumphs of its residents.
“I was raised here. I’m cut from this cloth. I know this town and I know these people. I’ve struggled just like them, and I’ve lived and loved just like them. I am pumped to be where I call home,” Andrew says.
Andrew is supporting the Houghton Lake Community School District Support Fund, reflecting his commitment to nurturing the next generation in his beloved hometown.
